Shalom Fest! 2020: A Passport to Peace
Shalom Fest! 2020: A Passport to Peace through Jewish culture, food, and music!
Building on 50 years of Café Shalom, Congregation Beth Shalom, the premier synagogue of the
greater Modesto area, announces its inaugural ‘Shalom Fest!’ – a celebration of Jewish culture,
food, and music.
The festival debuts Sunday, May 3rd, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., on the grounds at 1705
Sherwood Avenue in Modesto. Our 2020 event features A Passport to Peace theme, and
event-goers will be set to navigate through a self-guided tour, participating in all the festival’s
offerings at their own pace, and to their own tastes.
Attendees will be immersed in an all-Jewish experience featuring a buffet of extraordinary
foods, homemade classic baked goods, numerous all-ages interactive activities,
specialty-crafted drinks at our no-host bar, and the music of great pop/rock stars – covered live
by The Meshugenahs.
What kind of ‘Jewish’ music? Think Lenny Kravtiz, Neil Diamond, Paul Simon, and Paula Abdul –
no musical taste will go unsatisfied. The Meshugenahs, is comprised of all-Modesto talent: the
synagogue’s own celebrated guitarist Eli Lester and drummer sensation David Rogers have
teamed with local legends Tim Allen, Joe Barretta, Jason Finely, and Marlon Yamzon, along with
several special guests including singer-songwriter, Patty Castillo-Davis.
Open to the public, ‘Shalom Fest! 2020’ promises plenty of fun – for all!
ADMISSION: $20 advance; $25 at the door (kids under 5 are free!)
