Description : Against the backdrop of an indoor soccer field, The Wolves unfolds the frantic humor, humanity, and brutality of the battlefield that is teenage girlhood. In any war, even that of a high school all-girl soccer team, there are allies, there could be enemies, there are leaders, there are followers, there are sacrifices and losses, but there is always the heart of the team, where every player is ultimately valued equal to all others.

At its most straightforward, The Wolves is a fly-on-the-wall look at a girls’ high school soccer team as they go through their warm-ups. Beyond the surface, though, is the thoughtful and eloquent way Sarah DeLappe delineates each of the young women in the space of 90 minutes and six scenes.

The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe was a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama; the production won an Obie Ensemble Award; it won a special Drama Desk Award for its acting ensemble, and was nominated for Lucille Lortel and Drama League awards for Best Play, as well as for the Outer Critics’ Circle John Gassner Award for Outstanding New American Play.

Artistic Director Traci Sprague has put together a team of nine young women ages 16-27 from the valley to fill out the ensemble of The Wolves. Coaching the girls in soccer is Linda Scheller. To round out our #femalestrong production team we are in good care with Summer Krafft in the Stage Manager's seat
