26th annual poinsettia sale benefits child abuse prevention agency

Add a touch of elegance this holiday season with beautiful florist quality poinsettias and help support a non-profit child abuse prevention agency. Poinsettias make thoughtful gifts for friends, family and clients. Most importantly, a purchase helps the Parent Resource Center (PRC) continue its mission to build strong, healthy families and prevent child abuse in Stanislaus County.

The PRC will hold its 26th annual poinsettia fundraiser with pre-orders taken through Nov. 28. Poinsettia plants are available in traditional Christmas red and are wrapped in foil. Prices per plant are $16 for regular-sized Duarte red plants and $33 for large red plants. Cases are also available at a discount and include local delivery.

For 30 years the PRC has served thousands of children and families with parenting education, nutrition and health sessions, resources and supportive services as well as with emergency food, diapers and formula. Mostly recently the agency added supportive services for the elder population. Services provided at no cost at the agency’s 5th Street and Airport Neighborhood sites. The Parent Resource Center is funded in part through partnership with Stanislaus County, First 5 Stanislaus, various grants, donations, and fundraisers such as the poinsettia sales.
