Nosferatu in Celebration of Silent Movie Day

The State Theatre joins with historic theatres nationwide to celebrate Silent Movie Day with a screening of the 1922 horror classic NOSFERATU. Newly mastered from a restored print and accompanied by the original orchestral score, this unique German silent film includes English intertitles that helped describe dialog or events occurring on the screen.

The mysterious Count Orlok summons Thomas Hutter to his remote Transylvanian castle in the mountains. The eerie Orlok seeks to buy a house near Hutter and his wife, Ellen. After Orlok reveals his vampire nature, Hutter struggles to escape the castle, knowing that Ellen is in grave danger.
