Prints for Progress – Printmaking Workshops (FREE)

The workshop will begin with the discussion of Modesto icons like the Ash Tree, Seal, Arch and Justice Statue. From there participants will be guided through the basic steps of screen printing by hand. They’ll will then be designing, cutting and painting art with a screen that will then be printed by hand onto paper. Participants will be creating impactful images and messages that convey public health awareness related to COVID-19, water and energy conservation, climate change, emergency preparedness, civic engagement and social justice.

The Prints for Progress workshop will be taught by local artist Marisa Segovia (She/Her/Hers). She graduated from California State University Chico in 2019 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts (Printmaking) and a Bachelors of Arts in Art Education with a minor in Art History. She was one of sixteen awarded recipients to receive the Heartland Creative Corps grant in 2023.

– This workshop is suitable for ages 12 and above.

– It is suitable for beginners – advanced. (NO experience Required)

– All materials are safe and non-hazardous.

– Wear clothes that you don’t mind possibly getting dirty.
