SONORA BACH FESTIVAL PRESENTS SOPRANO AND PIANIST
The Sonora Bach Festival will be presenting Soprano, Christine Cosbey and pianist, Jason Jeffrey in a concert of classical vocal and piano music, Sunday, October 12, at 3:00 p.m.
The location will be in a stunning, private home. Diane Wright, Executive Director of the festival said, “The concert location is spectacular. It is in a home set overlooking a great view all the way to the Coast Range and Mt. Diablo. And, because it is in a home, the seats are very close to performers to make for a very rare experience”.
The program will include the music of Baroque masters – including Bach, Handel and others- and conclude with musical theater songs by Meredith Willson, Andrew Lloyd Weber and Richard Rogers. Among the vocal selections will be solos from Handel’s Messiah. Additionally, Jeffrey will be playing solo pieces on the keyboard including three Sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti and Bach’s Italian Concerto- a solo piano piece in three movements, conceived as a “concerto”.
Food, prepared by Goodness Café, and wine is included with the price of the ticket. Seating is limited and advanced reservations are highly recommended.
Tickets are $55 presale and $65 at the door (if available). Tickets can be purchased at sonorabach.org, or at The Mountain Bookshop in Sonora, or by calling (209) 536-6330.
