Stanislaus County 30th Annual Fireworks Celebration – Woodward Reservoir

Saturday, July 4, 2026 • Woodward Reservoir, Modesto, CA

• Park Hours: Open all day (Day-use visitors must exit by 10:00 p.m.)

• Fireworks Show: Begins at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Celebrate Independence Day with an evening of family fun. The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors invites you to the 30th Annual Fireworks Celebration at Woodward Reservoir. Visitors are encouraged to make a full day of it by enjoying the park’s many recreational opportunities before the spectacular fireworks display lights up the night sky.

Admission and Park Capacity

• Day-Use Fee: $40 per vehicle.
• First-Come, First-Served: Guests are highly encouraged to arrive early. The park typically reaches maximum capacity on Independence Day.
• Strict Entry Restrictions: To ensure a safe experience for everyone, there are no in-and-out privileges on July 4, walk-in access is not permitted, and parking along the perimeter of the park is strictly prohibited. These rules will be enforced by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol.

Food and Amenities

This year’s celebration features an expanded selection of on-site food vendors and fully stocked conveniences:

• Local Food Vendors: Enjoy food and treats from Taquerias Las Palmas, Yogurt Mill, and Okey Dokey Donuts.
• Crescent Supply Stores: Operating both the General Store at the Marina and the Outdoor Store at Mountain View Point. Stop by for hot dogs, nachos, cold treats, snacks, and beverages, as well as essentials like ice, water, firewood, sunscreen, shade hats, and water toys.

Traffic and Road Closures (Starting at 6:00 a.m.)

To help manage heavy holiday traffic, local road closures will be in effect throughout the day:

• Closed Roads: Dodds, Hinds, Dorsey, and Eastman Roads will be closed. The North Entrance to the reservoir will also be closed.
• Park Access: Access to Woodward Reservoir will be available only through the 26 Mile Road South entrance. Road closures will be lifted following the conclusion of the fireworks show.

Water Safety and Park Rules

• Life Jackets: Visitors planning to enjoy the water are encouraged to wear a life jacket regardless of age or swimming ability. Free loaner life jackets are available at the Marina, courtesy of a grant from the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways. Please return them before leaving so they remain available for future visitors.
• No Personal Fireworks: For the safety of all guests, personal fireworks are strictly prohibited at all Stanislaus County Regional Parks.
