April in Modesto
Spring is in the air and we can go out again and enjoy it (with people and masks!). You can feel it all around; from the parks to the farm stands and from the outdoor dining at local restaurants to cruising with the top down! We know you’re itching to get out of town and go somewhere with wide open sidewalks, no crowds, open space, affordable and with plenty to do. We’ve got the cure for your ‘work from home blues’!
Let’s start with entertaining outdoors and picnic baskets since the weather is so nice. This month we’ve partnered with the locally owned O’Briens Market to bring you tips on making the perfect picnic basket with a wine and cheese pairing. You can check out the video with Pat ‘The Wine Dodd’ and learn about our Get Mo’ Wine program. You’ll get a handy download of wine and cheese pairings to keep too!
Then, later in April, we will launch our Modesto Loves Dogs passport. Yes, it’s time for your favorite pup to earn some swag made just for them. We’re providing you information on the pet friendly MoCertified Restaurants, pet friendly hotels and even local parks that are favorites of dog lovers! Plus, when you use our passport all you need to do is check in at each location, with your dog of course, and you earn dog swag. We’re giving away pet bandanas, dog toys and even a Modesto Loves Dog shirt for dog owners! What more can a dog ask for!
And with the onset of spring you’ll find the farm stands and farmers market starting to bust out with what’s fresh and local. This is the beginning of my favorite ‘fresh’ season for local fruit and vegetables.
And don’t forget you have options here for the whole family; Boomers is now open (and socially spaced!) for everything from Lazer Tag to Go Karts to Batting Cages, there are dozens of tennis courts in the local parks for the whole family to use for free, disc golf in East La Loma Park, great golf at Creekside Golf Course, self-guided mural tours and so much more.
So come on over to Modesto where you can grab an affordable few days in a great location, with great food, great fun and great activities!
