Drive Highway 120 For Car Sightseeing: Selecting this specific route allows passengers to spot two waterfalls, iconic viewpoints, and historic architecture without exiting vehicles. As long as you have your phone recording on your drive, you can get really stunning clips of the scenic mountain sides.
Prepare For Total Cellular Disconnection: Mobile devices drop into emergency mode in the park, so keep a lookout for roadside signage for directions. If you need to make a call, make your way to the Valley Floor for cell service.
Consult with Entrance Gate Rangers: Welcoming park rangers will provide you with physical paper maps and draw customized driving paths for your next destination. Consulting with park experts right after the entrance gate ensures we stay completely prepared.
Read the Informational Sandwich Boards: As you pass the entrance gate, immediately pull over the Big Oak Flat Information Center. There you will find handwritten signs outside the center which display daily weather predictions and crucial wildlife warnings regarding local bears.
Anticipate Potential Parking Lot Chaos: The viewpoint parking lots stay crowded, but arriving travelers remain patient while waiting for open spaces. Parking lots on the valley floor near the Welcome Center may already be full by 10 AM. Utilize the 30-miute parking in front of the nearby general store.
Lookout for Changes in the Route: Most of the roads in Yosemite are one-way route, so understand which lanes you must be in before approaching your next turn. A single wrong turn can result in a frustrating 20-minute re-routing process. If you’re planning on going to the Yosemite Welcome Center, lookout for the upcoming roundabout where the first turn is for the Ahwahnee Hotel and the next is the visitor center.
Ride Free Shuttle Systems: Visitors can get past stressful navigation entirely by taking the complimentary transit buses at specific locations. The Yosemite Valley Shuttles travel on a fixed route around the park, so you will eventually get back to where you first got on.

Navigate Solo Travel Confidently: Lone adventurers can easily rent a bike from Curry Village and travel along bike paths from trail to trail. You can rent a bike from 8 AM to 7 PM at the rate of $48 for a full day and $36.50 for a half day.
